The UWA, Pune Working Women’s Hostel at Gokhale Nagar, built in 1979, is now a living testimony to what a group of determined and committed women can do. Located in a quiet and serene part of Pune, the hostel can comfortably house about 74 women at a time. It caters specially to those women who come from different cities and towns and have got jobs in Pune, but cannot afford upscale accommodation. Our hostel has clean and airy rooms and is equipped with latest facilities such as solar panels, a well-stocked library, a recreation room, a utility room on every floor, a visitor’s room and a counseling Centre.The CC TV cameras in the premises provide 24 hours security. Ours is one of the first organizations in the city which has been providing a home away from home to these resident working women.
Dipika BalMandir
Dipika BalMandir is our Kinder Garten school which caters to the children of 3 to 5 years of age. It is one of the few bilingual KGs in the city. The children are taught in both Marathi and English simultaneously. An all-round development of the child is the guiding principle of the school. All important national, social, and cultural events are celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school. The parents and the UWAP members are invited to attend the Annual Gathering,Sports Day, School Exhibitions etc.. Health check-ups, picnics to places of children’s interest are regular features.The children are an important part of the academic inputs. Free-ship is also made available to the really needy students. All our teachers are trained and each one looks after a particular group.
